A Day of Firsts

Yesterday Tristan sat in his bumbo seat for the first time. He does a good job holding his head up, but still doesn't have the upper body strength to use it for long! After trying out the bumbo, I laid him on his piano activity mat that he has laid on before to listen to music but never really interacted with. I so so happy to see him kicking the piano keys and hitting the toys hanging! I don't know how much of it was reflex and how much was on purpose, but he did seem to like it! He even grinned a little which is sort of a first. He smiles in his sleep a lot, but not really awake yet. There are times he looks like he's about to smile and his eyes light up, but he hasn't had a full on smile yet. That was definitely a grin while playing on the mat though! It was so sweet! And to finish off the firsts, in the middle of the night when he had just fallen asleep, he laughed in his sleep! It melted my heart! He is changing so fast!
