Tristan is changing so quickly. He is saying several words now: mama, daddy, thank you, ball, bye bye, hi, yes, uh oh, shoes, and bath. Some are repeats after us, but he says uh oh, mama, Dada, ball, and bye bye consistently and independently. He is climbing on everything and falling a lot. He scares mama all the time with his fearlessness. He will fall and hit his head hard on the hard wood, then try to climb back on whatever he fell from two minutes later. He is very very strong willed. He is definitely testing mommy and daddy. He gets in moods (usually close to bedtime) where he deliberately goes to everything he isn't supposed to do/have. He continues to do it no matter what we say or do until we physically move him away. Then he goes to the next thing he isn't supposed to have and the cycle continues. It's exhausting. He is starting to watch tv just a little, usually in his high chair. When he's running around, he'll very rarely stop to watch except for a minute here or there. He seems to like Sesame Street (Elmo specifically), the Wiggles, and Barney. He loves Buddy and Simon but sometimes terrorizes them so that we have to separate them. We are working on gentle when petting them. He loves outside. He immediately starts looking for his shoes when we ask him if he wants to go outside. He loves to water the trees and slide. When we go on the deck, he'll grab the watering can and try to take us to the water spout. It's adorable. He went swimming for the first real time this summer and likes it. He'll pretend to jump in by squatting down and waiting on us to pick him up. He was scared of the pool at first but it only took him a couple times and now he likes it. He eats great. He is eating pretty much anything but meat. He is loving fruits and veggies right now. He wants a snack every 20 minutes. He is always hungry. I weaned him about a month ago. He sleeps better since then but still not through the night. He still spends a lot of the night in our bed. He has been staying in his bed a lot longer though. Some nights he stays in his crib until 2 or 3 am and some nights he's in our bed by 11 pm. I would say most of the time he averages about midnight. We're okay with that right now. He does sleep better in our bed than he did when nursing. He usually tosses and turns somewhere around 4 am but puts himself back to sleep. He's still taking bottles most of the time before he sleeps and I haven't even attempted to cut them yet. He loves balls, music, animals, outside, and cars. He doesn't like being told what to do. He's a sweetheart when he wants to be and a handful when he wants to be. We love him so much!
